More Pictures From the Church

The first image is me holding Anna, one of our translator's daughters. Please pray for Anna. I think it was three months ago that she fell into a pot of boiling water where she got third degree burns over her stomach, on both sides of her legs and part of her lower abdomen. She had grafts done in the Dominican Republic, however they will have to be redone because they are not going to do well as she grows. It will only cost $600 American Dollars for the procedure to get the grafts redone, but they don't have the money and getting the visas from Haiti for the mother and other sister are going to be difficult. The family has an amazing faith and know that God is going to strengthen them even more through this difficult situation. Anna is in a lot of pain and because of the heat and lack of medical supplies her grafts are very itchy. She is a sweet energetic girl.

The second image is of a young girl who had a very bad case of scabies, which we saw a lot of in children. More than likely this family also practiced voodoo, which can be seen by the necklace the young child is wearing. The necklaces are seen as a protection for the child.

The third picture is of Jake seeing a patient with one of our interpreters, Guedax (pronounced Gee) who is also an elder of the church.

The final picture is of a wound from the earthquake. The woman shared that her leg was cut by a piece of wood. This is actually the best and cleanest wound we saw and only treated minimally by cleaning and wrapping it for her.
